CO2 is captured from the source using special technologies like chemical absorption, membrane separation, or adsorption.
The absorption process occurs in a packed column, where an amine solvent flows down from the top of the column the CO2-rich gas flows up from the bottom.
As the gas and solvent come into contact, the CO2 dissolves into the solvent, forming a chemical complex. The solvent is then pumped to the top of the column, where it is separated from the gas stream.
After the CO2 is captured, it is transported to the storage location via pipelines, ships, or trucks.
Finally, the CO2 is stored in a safe location such as deep underground geological formations or in the oceans.
