A gas contactor, such as a distillation column or plate column, is a piece of chemical equipment that facilitates heat and mass transfer between a gas and a liquid to separate components. Distillation is a separation process that uses a gas-liquid contactor to purify liquids by separating impurities and desired products. Our Demonstrator: The Gas Contactor Demonstrator is a small see-through column that models the operation of a gas contactor or distillation column.
